About The Photographer

Jerrilyn (Jheri) is an experienced portrait, headshot and event Photographer with published works. She also has a passion for theme based photo projects and hopes to one day publish her on-going piece on Sensuality , as well as another on-going themed project which explores and celebrates the beauty and history of Afro-centric hair. Both projects have been on exhibit.  


Her project Sensuality was exhibited at the Brooklyn Working Artist Coalition Show (2000), Creativity Exhibit at Long Island University (1999), JAMPACT's Women's Month program at Columbia University (March 2004) and another at Rain Lounge (2003). As a photojournalist her work has been published in the Chronicle of Philanthropy; Brooklyn Heights Press , Long Island University publications The Brooklyn Beat; LIU Magazine, Seawanhaka and Sound . She served as Photographer on Newsday Reporter Katti Gray's award winning fellowship project Maids in America .


Jerrilyn is a graduate of Long Island University's Media Arts program (BA '98), where she honed her skill and love of photography. Later, she served as a Photography Teacher's Assistant for the International Center of Photography, assigned to the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City. As a member, Jerrilyn exhibited work in two Fort Greene Photography Organization art shows and served on the fundraising committee. In addition, four of her Sensuality images exhibited at the infamous Clef Club in Philadelphia for a Pan-Hellenic Council Arts Show during Greek week.


The Photographer also enjoys participating in civic activities. In 2004, Jerrilyn donated one of her images titled "Shades of Beauty" to the Girls Action Network Program towards their fundraising efforts where it was auctioned and purchased. Christina Baidoe joined as Album Design Apprentice in 2008 for several service projects with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Together they have designed various digital books and have won regional and international competitions with their book designs. Most recently Jerrilyn led a Photography class for the youth at the Women In Need Center in Brooklyn, NY as one of New York Cares' Team Leaders (2013) and coordinated a student exhibit for the families and community.
